With the New Year well underway we think it’s time to plan ahead and put some dates in the diary to look forward to throughout 2014! So, here’s our list of the top 10 BBQ and food events to attend this year to get your diary started:

Grillstock

Manchester, Bristol & London: Any BBQ enthusiast will know that Grillstock is the place to be when it comes to meat, music and mayhem! Running over 2 days in two locations across the UK,  these events will be graced with some of the world’s greatest meat pro’s with entertainment from authentic british rock talent. Whichever date you attend, you’re sure to get all the music, beer and BBQ food you could desire, leaving you with an experience you won’t forget in a hurry.

Meatopia

Date TBC: Having landed in East London for the first time last year from USA soils, Meatopia festival took over Tobacco Dock with a suitably smoky atmosphere! With more highly acclaimed chefs than you could shake a stick at, Meatopia became yet another paradise for those looking to indulge in a little (well ok, a lot!) of grilled meat! Menu choices ranged from pulled pork tacos to confit of hog belly, and we’re very much looking forward to what will be on offer this year! No dates have been confirmed as of yet, but boasting an experience of ‘meat, drink, fire and music’, you won’t want to miss out on tickets!

Big Feastival

30th-31st August: The brainchild of Jamie Oliver and  Alex James, the Big Feastival offers a more family friendly experience in the heart of the Cotswolds. Combining a selection of the country’s top street food chefs with a range of well-known music acts including Basement Jaxx, Rizzle Kicks and KT Tunstall, the Big Feastival provides a more relaxed vibe for all ages. Justin from CBeebies even made an appearance in 2013 to keep the kids entertained! The festival works to raise funds for the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation making this an all round feel good event.

BBC GoodFood Shows

5 dates and locations available:  With top chef demonstrations, hundreds of food producers from around the UK and the promise of ‘a feast of culinary inspiration’, the BBC Good Food Shows of 2014 are bound to be a great day out for all you food lovers out there. Whichever your nearest location (Harrogate, Birmingham, Scotland or London) you will no doubt enjoy a day full of great conversation, new cooking tips, delicious tasters and chance to brush shoulders with some TV chef ‘royalty’!

Royal Leamington Spa Food and Drink Festival

6th-7th September: Located in the Royal Pump Room Gardens of Royal Leamington Spa, and offering free entry for all, this event offers a ’fun filled weekend’ with plenty of activities, entertainment and tasting for all ages including a Cookery Theatre for the adults, a Kids Cookery School and (best of all!) a BBQ masterclass area. This event will be well worth a visit in September, so put the date in your diary and don’t miss out!

Foodies Festivals

Available across a range of dates and locations: Boasting to be the ‘Number 1 summer food and drink festival’, the Foodies Festivals certainly offer an upmarket spin on food events for 2014. With industry buyers and professionals, several high-profile chefs and restaurateurs, and the title of UK’s largest food and drink festival, (it spans a number of events located across the country), visitors can expect the opportunity to taste plenty of samples, meet chefs, and purchase some top quality produce, whilst learning more about all things culinary.

BITE food festival

4th-9th February: Offering up a whole host of events for breakfasts, brunches, lunches, teas and dinners, BITE takes over the cotswolds for a few days in February with markets, pop up restaurants, masterclasses, talks and tastings! Some events of this food festival require booking in advance so it’s worth checking out the website, but even without booking BITE has a lot to give when it comes to an all round food experience.

World Street Food Festival

18th-21st April 2014: Looking for something a little different when it comes to choosing a food festival to attend? Then this one might be for you! Located in London’s Southbank, the World Street Food Festival showcases the best and most creative street food traders, celebrating London’s multicultural food scene and encouraging all to try something new! There will be no shortage of delicious grilled meats and flavours from across the globe so its well worth a visit this Easter Bank Holiday.

The Great British Food Festival

Running in 6 stunning British locations including Shugborough Estate, Stonyhurst College and Harwick Hall: The Great British Food Festival will be easily accessible to all at various dates throughout the Summer, from 3rd May. These  Great British food festivals provide a great family experience; there will be food a-plenty, entertainment for all, and the all-important ‘men vs. food’ challenge! Flavour Fest

15th-17th August 2014: As the largest food festival in the South West this 3-day event offers attendees a great way to experience a range of South West produce all in one place. Visitors can expect a busy atmosphere with plenty to see and do.
